Each Loop Earplugs model offers a different level of sound reduction, depending on your needs:

Loop Experience™ 2 → 17 dB (SNR)

With Experience™ 2 Plus, add the Loop Mute for an extra 3 dB, for a total of 20 dB.
Loop Engage™ 2 → 16 dB (SNR)

With Engage 2 Plus, add the Loop Mute for an extra 9 dB, for a total of 25 dB.
Engage™ Kids 2 → 16 dB (SNR)
Big protection for small ears — helps kids focus and play without distractions.
Switch™ 2 → One pair, three modes:
Quiet Mode → 25 dB
Experience Mode → 21 dB
Engage Mode → 17 dB
These values come from two different standards that measure how well hearing protection devices (like earmuffs or earplugs) reduce sound. In the US, we use the NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) for ANSI certification. In Europe, it's the SNR (Single Number Rating) for CE certification. Because the certification bodies use different calculation methods, SNR ratings are usually about 2-3 dB higher than NRR ratings for the same product. But both ratings reflect the same level of performance and functionality.
Yes, that's completely normal. What you're experiencing is called ‘occlusion,’ a common sensation for all earplug users. It might feel similar to having your head underwater, but it actually means you’re wearing your earplugs correctly. Our Loop Engage 2 earplugs are designed to reduce occlusion. By not completely blocking the ear canal, they prevent sound from getting trapped, keeping speech clear while you wear them.

Looking for a peaceful night's sleep? Loop Quiet 2 has got you (and your ears) covered. These earplugs offer ultimate comfort and top-notch noise reduction, all wrapped up in soft, flexible silicone. Designed with a round shape, they fit snugly in your ear without sticking out and stay securely in place all night long – even if you're a side sleeper!
Loop earplugs qualify as certified hearing protection and are great for protecting your ears from hearing damage/loss and tinnitus. By lowering the volume of loud noises around you, our earplugs offer you instant relief throughout the day and night. Keep in mind they won't reduce internal sounds like ringing in your ears and aren't a cure for pre-existing conditions. Not sure if they're right for you? Loop earplugs come highly recommended by millions worldwide, especially those who are noise-sensitive or neurodivergent. They’re great for tuning out triggering sounds in social settings, helping you to stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed. Whether it's focusing at work or managing daily activities, our earplugs empower people with ADHD, autism, misophonia, and more to take control of their volume.
You can use your Loop earplugs for a lot of things, just not everything. Certain situations, like handling firearms or riding a helicopter, call for higher noise reduction and stronger hearing protection. Also, our earplugs aren't suitable for swimming since water exposure might damage the internal components, and the silicone ear tips might not seal out all water.
Additionally, some states may not allow the use of devices like Loop earplugs while driving. Be sure to check your local driving and traffic laws before driving with your earplugs in.
If you're using our earplugs to manage noise in your workplace, please note that they may not reduce noise levels enough to meet workplace standards set by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration or the Environmental Protection Agency. If you're unsure, it's best to consult your manager or supervisor.
